Day 8- Sales Department Fiel work (Shenn)

p/s Sorry for not showing any photo for my part as I dropped my phone in the morning while my alarm rang, and the LCD spoiled. D:
Today was an adventurous day with the Senior Product Specialist (SPM), Khay Sern. He tagged me along to meet the customers at the Columbia Asia Hospital in Seremban. This is for us to learn about how a salesperson deals with the customers.
One sales rep is supposed to meet 7-8 customers a day. But things don’t always go smoothly; today Khay Sern and I just managed to meet only 4 doctors.  I can say, most of the time we were waiting, because patients must always come first. I admit that I got a bit agitated after waiting for a doctor for 2 hours, but Khay Sern wasn’t discouraged and just waited patiently beside me.
One of the friendly physicians I met, Dr. Radha, asked me if I’m gonna work in a pharmaceutical company like MSD and which department I’d like to be in. I told him I like medical affairs the most as it’s related the most to what I’m studying now. He was encouraging me to opt for Marketing/Sales department instead as he thinks pharmacists are capable to apply the scientific knowledge and come out with some creative ways to introduce the product to the market. The most fortunate thing was that he even invited me to a Focus Group Meeting at Empire Hotel this coming Sunday. (sorry, Meiting and Shao, that’s why I called off our outing on Sunday D: )
Besides doctors, Khay Sern also talked to the pharmacist about the new product. It was really impressive that KhaySern can get along with the nurses and all the officers very well. I can see that Khay Sern must be one of the successful salesperson in MSD because he knows how to enjoy meeting and talking to a wide variety of people. He always tends to be comfortable and confident in social settings which I really need to learn from him.
To me, sales rep of any company is like a daddy that works to bring in money to the “MSD family” like a HERO :P. 辛苦了
So now I'm so looking forward for the meeting on Sundayay!
